Complete guide to using Fare2U - Livestock Management System v2.3.1

Introduction

Fare2U is a comprehensive livestock management system that helps farmers record and track their livestock from purchase or birth all the way to sale. The system organizes all activities by batch and keeps track of the most important dates in the lifetime of your animals.

With Fare2U, you can manage cattle, poultry, pigs, goats, rabbits, and other farm animals. Track animal counts per shed and batch with costing and performance metrics, as well as financial tracking from sales. Special features include vaccination management, feed tracking, and death management.

Livestock Management

Adding Livestock Types

  1. Navigate to the Livestock module from the main menu
  2. Click the "Add New Livestock" button
  3. Enter the livestock name (e.g., Cattle, Poultry, Goats)
  4. Save to create the livestock type

Creating Variants

Variants allow you to categorize different breeds within each livestock type. For example, under Cattle, you might have variants like Holstein, Angus, or Jersey.

  1. From the livestock list, click "Add Variant" under your livestock type
  2. Enter variant details (breed name, characteristics)
  3. Save the variant
  4. Click "View Variant" to see all variants for a livestock type

Purchasing Livestock

Before purchasing, ensure you have created suppliers in the Supplier module.

  1. Go to Livestock Purchase module
  2. Click "Add New Purchase"
  3. Select supplier, livestock type, and variant
  4. Enter quantity and price
  5. Optionally add payment details if paying immediately
  6. Submit to create purchase invoice

Note: You can edit or delete purchases before assigning them to a shed.

Shed Management

Creating Sheds

  1. Navigate to Shed module
  2. Click "Add New Shed"
  3. Enter unique shed number and name
  4. Add capacity and other details
  5. Save to create the shed

Assigning Livestock to Sheds

When you assign livestock to a shed, the system automatically generates a unique batch number. Each shed assignment creates a new batch for tracking purposes.

  1. Go to Shed module and click "Assign to Shed"
  2. Select the purchased livestock you want to assign
  3. Choose the destination shed
  4. Enter the quantity to assign
  5. A batch number will be automatically generated
  6. Submit to complete the assignment

Transfer Between Sheds

Transfer livestock from one shed to another while maintaining complete history tracking.

  1. Navigate to Shed module, click "Transfer List"
  2. Select the source shed and batch
  3. Choose the destination shed
  4. All animals in the batch will be transferred together
  5. View transfer history to see complete location timeline

Death Management

Track animal deaths separately from active inventory to maintain accurate records.

  1. Go to Shed module, click "Death List"
  2. Select the shed where death occurred
  3. Click "Add New Death"
  4. Enter quantity and date
  5. Deaths are excluded from active inventory counts

Vaccination Management

Setting Up Vaccines

  1. Go to Vaccine module
  2. Create vaccine routes (injection, oral, etc.) in Routing section
  3. Click "Add New Vaccine" to create vaccine types
  4. Enter vaccine name and unit

Assigning Vaccination Schedules

  1. From vaccine list, click "Assign" button
  2. Select livestock type and variant
  3. Add dose information (quantity, days interval, route)
  4. Click "Add More Dose" for multiple doses
  5. Submit to create vaccination schedule

Purchasing Vaccine Stock

  1. Go to Vaccine Purchase
  2. Select supplier and vaccine
  3. Enter quantity and price
  4. Add payment details if paying immediately
  5. Stock levels update automatically

Administering Vaccines

  1. Navigate to Vaccination Schedule
  2. View shed-wise vaccination dates
  3. Click "Dose" button for due vaccinations
  4. Enter quantity used from stock
  5. Confirm dose completion
  6. System automatically schedules next dose

Tip: You can revert/undo a dose if entered incorrectly. Use "View Used Vaccine" to edit quantities.

Feed Management

Creating Feed Types

  1. Ensure you have created product units in Settings
  2. Go to Food module
  3. Click "Add New Food"
  4. Enter food name and select unit

Assigning Feed to Batches

  1. From food list, click "Assign Batch"
  2. Select shed and batch
  3. Enter daily feed requirements for each food type
  4. Submit to create feeding plan

Daily Feed Distribution

  1. Go to Food Stock module
  2. Click "Distribute Food" for assigned batches
  3. System shows available stock
  4. Confirm daily distribution
  5. Stock levels update automatically
  6. Track costs per animal/batch

Production Management

Setting Up Products

  1. Create product categories (e.g., Dairy, Eggs, Wool)
  2. Add products within categories
  3. Assign products to specific batches
  4. Same product can be assigned to multiple batches

Recording Production

  1. Go to assigned product in Production module
  2. Click "Add Stock" for daily production
  3. Enter quantity produced
  4. Stock updates automatically
  5. Track production trends per batch

Sales Management

Livestock Sales

  1. Ensure you have created clients in Client module
  2. Go to Sale → Livestock Sale List
  3. Click "Add New Sale"
  4. Select client, shed, and batch
  5. Enter quantity and price
  6. Add payment details if receiving payment immediately

Product Sales

  1. Go to Sale → Product Sale List
  2. Click "Add New Product Sale"
  3. Select client and products from stock
  4. Enter quantities and prices
  5. Multiple products can be added per invoice

Reports & Analytics

Fare2U provides comprehensive reporting across all modules:

  • Livestock Reports: Complete inventory and animal history
  • Purchase Reports: Procurement analysis and supplier trends
  • Sales Reports: Revenue tracking and customer analysis

System Settings

Farm Information

Update your farm details, logo, and contact information in the Settings module.

Language Settings

Fare2U supports multiple languages. Change your preferred language from the Language Setup section.

User Profile

Update your username, password, and profile information from the Profile module.

Product Units

Create custom units for feeds, vaccines, and products (e.g., liters, kg, dozen, bales).
